12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) William continues to show the makings of a special type player with his baseball abilities. At the plate is where he continues to show best through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is firm but needs to present more out front. Throws are accurate with on line carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Harmony (Pittsburgh), PA William is a solid, strong 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line zip (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. With 2 years to further develop, William has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
