10/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Joplin, MO William is a young, lefty, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, William has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, gets good extension, and has a controlled landing toward home; competing in the zone. In the OF, William has playable hands and feet, and a good 1st step to the ball. He makes plays, fields squarely, and throws with consistency to his target. Offensively, this LHH has an open stance, active hands, and he keeps his head on the ball. He hits well to the opposite field and gets his lower body through. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Landing
2. Glove side lead
3. Off-speed
Outfield
1. Hands
2. Release
3. Arm action
Offense
1. Swing path
2. Rhythm
3. Barrel accuracy

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
