Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

07/27/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) William is a long, lean two-way player with a projectable frame and the work ethic to continue improving all aspects of his game. He shows impressive control of all three pitches and will throw any pitch in any count to keep hitters off balance. He works with smooth rhythm in his delivery to drive the ball downhill and induce weak contact. He hides the ball well and stays in control of each at bat by mixing his fastball, sharp curveball and deceptive changeup. At short, he shows feel for the position with good angles to the ball and the ability to use multiple arm slots to make tough throws. He works around the ball and gets momentum to his target to make quick DP feeds and throws. He is disciplined at the plate with strike zone awareness and an approach to attack the pitch in his zone. He gets on plane early and keeps the barrel through the zone to make square contact and use all fields. Extending his hands through contact will lead to harder hit balls and more base hits moving forward. William is an interesting prospect who we look forward to watching during his senior season.

02/10/2018 - College PREP - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA William is an average sized, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, William works in good tempo, he stands over the rubber well, and has a loose/free arm action. He separates on-time, gets good extension through, and finishes with good direction toward his target. More lower body, eyes on target, and a more complete finish will help mound effectiveness get better. At SS, William is light on his feet, he has soft hands, and throws from multiple arm slots with accuracy to his target. At the plate, William has a square/athletic set-up, he loads properly, and swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes square/consistent contact, and uses his lower body. Hitting can get better by not drifting and letting the ball travel further into the hitting zone.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
