01/29/2017 - College PREP - San Diego, CA William is a well-rounded 3B prospect who is well-built and plays the game athletically. As a right-handed hitter, William maintains a quiet head with a square, athletic setup and centered balance. He has a load with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. William flashes fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He gets good extension at contact producing hard contact. William is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, William plays with effective pre-pitch actions and the correct angles to cover good ground. He fields the ball squarely with a firm glove. He has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a low 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball showing strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Overall, William has skill on both sides of the ball and potential to get even better.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
