09/01/2019 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD William is a solid, 2-way player who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, this LHP keeps his eyes on target, he has a quick arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. William lands with a proper length stride toward home, he competes in the zone, and he mixes in his off-speed well. Mound effectiveness can get better with more front arm extension, more finish, and added arm strength. In the OF, William has active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields in a square position. He plays through ground balls, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency and momentum to his cut off man. Added range and arm strength will help defensive abilities improve. Offensively, William has a tall/open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He swings in good rhythm, flashes fast bat speed, and he makes consistent contact to all fields. Clearing his hands sooner and continuing to add physical strength with help hitting spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
