01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) This talented 2-way prospect continues to shine in a variety of ways on the diamond. At SS, Rollings displays quick/active prep working fluidly right to left in his approach to the GB. Hands are soft as he funnels to a clean transfer with the ability to fire accurately across the diamond from multiple arm angles. With the bat, he stands in well with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he engages his lower 1/2 well, connecting and show pop to his pull-side (exit velo = 85 mph). On the mound, William attacks the zone with an effective 3-pitch mix. He works to a controlled balance point and drives off of the rubber, in-line toward the dish. FB now tops out at 83 mph with good arm-side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with tight spin. Changeup has some depth and compliments his FB well. William is a skilled/versatile athlete who (2023 grad) has a ton of upside and bright future ahead on the diamond.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament William continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with short break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament William is a long, lean, athletic SS/RHP in the 2023 grad class. Continued to impress at the UA Pre-Season Rookie All-America Tournament, showcasing his versatility and his advanced ability in all aspects of his game. At the plate, he operates with great rhythm, looks cool and collected and drives the ball to all fields. Sets up athletically and stays inside the ball, there isn't a location he cannot reach effectively. Defensively, showed off plus arm strength for his grad class, sending a ball across the diamond at 85 mph. Plus range and very clean hands allow him to make most plays at SS look easy and he will continue to shape into a plus defender. Very effective on the mound with his FB (79-80mph) and command of his CB (-14 mph) to keep hitters off balance. His great release defensively lends to great arm action and combined with a nice controlled delivery will allow him to be very tough to hit. A great personal makeup with the baseball skill set should land William at the next level comfortably.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament William is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, William takes a good first step and displays efficient footwork. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a level swing with plus barrel control, leading to solid contact to all fields. On the mound, William starts with a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate, driving his lower half well. William shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 61-63mph with 10-4 break. With four more years to develop, William has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL William is a tall, lean, 2-way player who plays SS and pitcher. Defensively, skills are very good, hands are soft, and footwork is quick and fluid. He has good pre-pitch actions, fields squarely and fluidly, and has a quick exchange with accuracy and carry across the diamond. On the mound, William has a loose/quick arm action, a balanced delivery, and he uses his lower body. He repeats well, has good direction toward home plate, and competes in the zone. Offensively, William has a square set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes square contact to all fields, and he uses his lower body. William can get even better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
