07/24/2015 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2
William is a very coachable player who takes what he learns and is quick to apply it. He asks questions and shows a willingness to improve. As a hitter, this righty has a square setup with rhythm to load. He barrels the ball up consistently and shows pop when centered. He is aggressive on the bases and hustles all over the field. Swinging on a shorter/more direct path will result in increased pop off of the barrel. In the OF, William is aggressive and tracks down fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands, has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws into his target. Only a 2019 grad - Scheper still has a ton of time and will continue to improve as he works hard on his skills.
01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14)
William is a very athletic, young player. Defensively, in the OF, William is always ready and takes a great first step. He gets behind the ball well and works through well with a soft glove. Offensively, William has an athletic setup and starts with a good balanced base. He gets to his launch position on time and stays balanced through the swing. A smooth, quick swing path allows for solid contact with good bat speed. Focusing on getting his hips through more effectively will allow him to maximize his power. William is a solid kid, wants to improve and plays the game hard.
12/07/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA
William is a young, 2-way player as an OF/1B. In the OF, he shows a quick first step with solid routes/angles to the fly-ball. He secures the ball, gathers well and gains ground toward his target. At 1B, he shows active footwork around the bag and has the ability to pick it. He moves well to inaccurate throws and is a good target at 1B. With the bat, this RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm in his hands. He swings against a first front side, connects and drives the ball. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses the whole field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.
2. Gain ground toward target
2. Lateral range
1. Shorten swing path
2. Extension through contact
