02/21/2022 - All-In Membership - Lake Zurich (Chicago), IL William is a tall, solid 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Feet are active as he works to square balls up but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-70 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays tight spin with 11/5 shape and gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, William has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
