02/29/2020 - Baseball Factory Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD (Ages 12-14) William performed well at the Mid-Atlantic Skills Training event. He reached a new high with an exit velocity of 65 mph. His balanced, simple approach along with his excellent tracking ability make it possible for him to barrel up balls for most of the weekend. He drives line drives to all fields and when he keeps his stroke short he can handle all types of pitching. Behind the plate William showed good flexibility allowing him to give a good target and present well for his pitchers. He has good hands and the foundation of skills to be a very good catcher at higher levels. We want William to continue to be more confident and have those leadeship skills behind the plate to go with his very good skills. William is a player who will be very fun to watch develop over the next several years.

12/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Swarthmore (Philadelphia), PA William is a 2-way player who catches and plays OF. In the OF, William has active feet, a firm/presentable glove, and he takes aggressive routes to the ball. He fields low, makes plays, and throws accurate to his cut off man from a quick release. Behind the plate, William has playable hands and feet, good flexion, and he uses his body to block. He tracks well, his exchange is clean, and throws with pop times as low as 3.46 seconds to 2nd base. Offensively, William has an open stance, a short stride, and he keeps his head still. He makes solid contact and hits with strength to the pull side. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Avoid over running
2. Raise arm slot
Catching
1. Long toss
2. Range
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Strength
3. Rhythm

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
