Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Wyatt is a tall, solid 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2024. At the plate, is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Range will improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) to his target. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Wyatt has potential with time and room to progress his game.

09/12/2021 - All-In Membership - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Wyatt is a tall OF/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2024. In the field, Wyatt tracks fly balls and works behind them well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws to his target. Long tossing can help Wyatt build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to the opposite field. Wyatt can create more consistent contact by getting into his load sooner. On the mound, Wyatt gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Wyatt operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 57-59mph with 2-8 break. Splitter sits from 55-56mph with good downward action. Driving his lower half more can help Wyatt increase his pitch velocity. With three more years to develop, Wyatt has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
