01/17/2014 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Wyatt only showed at 3B at the event where he continues to show solid play in his baseball abilities. Feet are active as he attacks ground balls and attacks ground balls, squaring balls up, displaying clean hands. He moves well laterally, displaying range. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. Lower half works well through the swing with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At the event, he drew 3 BB as he is patient and shows a strong recognition of the strike zone.

Hoppie showed at 3B and on the mound for the first time at the event. Currently, he projects best at 3B for the next level. Defensive grade has improved the most now showing superior defensive skills. Feet are active / aggressive as he attacks ground balls and plays through well, displaying soft / sure hands. He moves laterally, flashing range especially to his backhand side. At the plate, hitting grade and power numbers have improved to well above average through an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-79 mph with slight sink. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with fading action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a hard worker and is very coachable.

Wyatt is a thick 3B with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2014. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.42 60 time. Feet are active as he works to square balls up, plays through well while presenting soft / clean / sure hands well out front. He displays smooth athletic actions through the fielding process and works to get rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, Hoppie shows an open setup with balance. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He attacks the ball with his hands and shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Wyatt has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.
