12/09/2017 - Accelerated Hitting Weekend PHS- Columbia, MD
Wyatt is a hard working player that made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training weekend. At the plate, Wyatt starts in an athletic stance and has a soft open stride. He gets his hands back and shows power to the pull side. Getting his front foot down on time and seeing the ball deep into the contact zone will help him drive the ball to all fields. Attacking the inside part of the ball, and using his lower half will help him get on plane with the ball. Wyatt will continue to get extension through contact by attacking the inside part of the ball and keeping his head down at contact. Wyatt will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Wyatt is an athletic 2-way player (RHP/2B) who graduates in 2022. With the bat, this RHH shows an athletic/tall stance with patience, waiting for a pith he likes. He gets loaded, swings on a level path and looks to drive the middle of the field. At 2B, he hustles into position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled abalone point, has smooth separation and works in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 57-61 mph while showing slight sink. Breaking ball has 12/6 shape with early action. Changeup has some sink as he works to keep it down in the zone. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve his overall skill-set on the diamond.
1. Contact points
2. More lower 1/2 drive
3. Shorter/more direct swing path
1. Lateral quickness
2. Glove presentation out in front
3. Play through the ball
1. More lower 1/2 drive
2. Arm strength (long toss)
3. Finish with extension
