07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (MS) Wyatt is a solid catcher in the 2027 class out of Marathon, FL. Behind the plate, he shows off his athletic ability. He can maintain the strike zone well and shows excellent glove presentation. He gains ground on his throws and replaces his feet well. Release has momentum and uses short arm action to make throws on the bag. Advanced blocker and is quick to recover. At the plate, he competes against all pitching. Has a quick and direct path and can use the whole field. His hands are comfortable, and his stride is short. Working to gain separation from his hands and front foot will allow his timing to become smoother. Overall, Wyatt is a solid backstop in the 2027 class.

07/06/2023 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Wyatt is a 2027 C out of Marathon, FL who showcased his skills during the BF Select Training and Competition in Cape Cod. He's a hard worker who hustles and is coachable. Behind the plate he shows athletic actions and knowledge of the game. He tracks pitches well and gains ground to second base on his throws. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 59mph and a best pop time of 2.8 seconds. At the plate he hits from an athletic and square stance with comfortable hands. In live game action, he proved to be a tough out as he made consistent contact. We look forward to seeing him at another event in the near future.

03/26/2023 - National Showcase - Delray Beach, FL Wyatt is a C/OF who will graduate in 2027. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.81 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, feet are active but needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 1/2 years to further develop, Wyatt has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
