01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Xander continues to show as a prospect in the OF. In the OF, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet, covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (90 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate he continues to shine. Hands are quick and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and he works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

12/06/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Frisco (DFW), TX Xander continues to show shine on the diamond and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He utilizes his quick feet well and reads balls well off the bat, displaying range. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (87 mph velocity) on a line through his target. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (90 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field.

02/16/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Highland Park (DFW), TX Xander continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.94 60 time). Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively and shows big play potential. At the plate, he continues to shine with well above average hitting abilities with excellent power potential through an athletic setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick (91 mph exit velocity) with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. With 2 years to further develop, Xander has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Xander continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.10 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved, now showing well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (80 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, power is now outstanding through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 5 with a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/16/2019 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Xander is a tall, lean OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.19. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (80 mph velocity) to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. With 2 years to further develop, Xander has a ton of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
