Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

08/02/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Xander is a solid (6'4"/180) CIF who worked hard on his skills during his time at Pirate City. With the bat, this righty stands in with a tall setup with patience waiting for a pitch he likes. He jumps on pitches in the zone and barrels the ball up, hitting line-drives (exit velocity now at 79 mph). Working to get his stride foot down sooner will help to improve timing and increase hard contact consistency. Defensively at 1B, he hustles to works into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range in the INF. Nolin is a coachable athlete who plays the game the right way. He's a couple adjustments away from unlocking his potential on the diamond.

07/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Utica (Detroit), MI Xander is a R/R 1B who has a strong frame (6'4"/180). With the bat, this righty shows a square setup, centered balance and short stride. He takes an aggressive hack, swings against a firm front side and whips the barrel with speed on a short/direct path. He shows some pop to his pull-side (exit velocity = 83 mph). At 1B, he has active prep footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility/quickness will help to increase lateral range. This 2022 grad has a solid skill-set and is a couple adjustments away from unlocking his potential on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
