07/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Virginia Beach, VA Xavier increased velocity to 65 MPH and exit velocity to 76 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. In the OF, Xavier has quick/active feet, athletic actions, and he moves well to the ball. He tracks well, makes plays, and has a clean exchange with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Xavier has good balance and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time and competes in the zone. Offensively, Xavier has an open stance, a short stride, and he loads his hands properly. He has fast bat speed and shows the ability to hit to all fields.

07/16/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Xavier is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that worked hard all week. In the OF, Xavier is on time with his prep step, fields the ball in a proper fielding position, and creates good angles to the ball. He needs to continue to work behind the ball and create momentum in his lower half when throwing the ball. At the plate, Xavier starts in an open and quiet stance. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, get his lower half to balance, and rotate his backside to the ball. Looking for the fastball early and keeping the barrel behind the ball will improve his ability to make contact. On the bump, Xavier gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and pounds the strike zone. He fields his position well and controls the running game. He needs to continue to ride his back leg toward the plate and work downhill in his delivery. Xavier will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/02/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Woodbridge (DC), VA Xavier showed nice improvements in his game during his workout in Woodbridge. He lowered 60 time to 7.15 seconds, raised velocity to 59 MPH, and showed a spike in OF skills. Defensively, Xavier fields aggressively through efficient footwork. He has a presentable, fields in a square position, and his exchange is clean with a high 3/4 arm slot to his cut off man. On the hill, Xavier keeps his eyes on target, he separates his hands on time, and he lands with a proper length stride toward home plate; competing in the zone. Offensively, Xavier has a tall/open stance, good balance, and a level swing. He puts the bat on the ball and taps into some lower body.

04/28/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Charlottesville, VA Xavier is a tall, athletic 2-way player who plays OF and RHP. Defensively, Xavier has active feet, he fields aggressively, and he covers ground well. He has soft hands, gets rid of the ball quickly, and throws with consistency to his cut off man. On the mound, this RHP has good balance, he separates his hands on time, and he keeps his eyes on target. Xavier has raw abilities, good direction toward the plate, and he competes in the zone. Offensively, Xavier has a tall/open stance, a square stride, and good balance. He flashes some bat speed, stays balanced, and can hit to all fields. Xavier can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
