12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14)
Xavier shined once again at the Winter Classic. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 3.09 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone but will benefit by presenting a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

Xavier is a tall, 2-way player who catches and plays 1B. Behind the plate, Xavier has efficient footwork, he sits in well, and presents his glove properly. He catches squarely, his exchange is clean, and throws with a short arm action to 2nd base with pop times as low as 2.97 seconds. At 1B, Xavier has playable hands and feet, he centers well on his body, and has an accurate arm with consistency to his target. At the plate, Xavier has a square/athletic set-up, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He keeps his head still, makes square contact, and uses some lower body. Overall skills can improve with work on the following.
