He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond.

10/25/2020 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Xavier continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show as a catcher for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved, now showing as outstanding tools through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times showed in 2.00 range with accuracy / carry (82 mph velocity) on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly.

07/12/2020 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Xavier is an athletic MIF who has a solid all-around skill-set. Defensively, he has active prep footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He shows plus lateral range, fields the GB with soft hands and has a quick transfer to throw. He has the ability to throw from multiple arm angles with strength and accuracy. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
