10/14/2015 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Xavier showed his best ability to date at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic with Baseball Factory. Behind the dish, he sat with athleticism and flexibility, receiving with sure hands in front. He was efficient with his footwork and controlled with his body both in blocking and in throwing down to 2B - with consistent 2.0 pops. Xavier controlled the game, commanded the pitching staff well, and took overall charge of the diamond. Offensively, he was loose in his setup and worked to his hitting position on-time. He danced with the pitcher, displaying plus rhythm, and collected himself a pair of doubles during the tournament. In all - Xavier has great upside with leadership qualities and present skill.

04/19/2015 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Xavier continues to show well on the diamond. Behind the dish, he sits in well and maintains athletic actions. He works quickly around pitches in the dirt and deadens the ball off of his chest. Exchange is quick/clean as he fires accurate throws to 2B (pop times now at 1.99). At 3B, he shows active footwork as he moves well into a square fielding position. He funnels smoothly and gains ground toward his target at 1B. With the bat, this strong righty shows a balanced approach with patience waiting for his pitch. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and whips the barrel through the zone, pulling it with pop. Posada has a solid all-around skill set and will make an impact in many facets of the game.

07/27/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Xavier is a solid/athletic 2017 graduate who plays C/3B. He has above average arm strength, his ball has carry and he has quick/loose arm action. Behind the plate Xavier showed a flexible set-up, clean hands, good footwork, in-line release and he centers/deadens when blocking. As an infielder he has an athletic fielding position, soft/sure hands, active footwork and playable range. He needs to work on agility drills both for efficiency and speed and long toss for arm strength/accuracy. At the plate Xavier has an athletic set-up, smooth/hands back load, his swing path is on-plane and he has smooth rhythm. He needs to stride at the pitcher (he is open) and allow the ball to travel into the proper hitting zone so he can drive the ball to all fields. Xavier showed a good upside in Pirate City. If he makes the adjustments and works hard to implement them into his game he can be a very good player in the future

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
