03/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, SC Xavier continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as she ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.16 runner. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contract through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, he displays smooth/fluid actions. He takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Xavier is a coachable 3B/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Xavier takes a quick first step and moves well to his glove side. He fields the ball out in front of his body and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Xavier field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and works to barrel up the baseball, using the entire field well. Xavier can barrel up more baseballs by maintaining center balance throughout his swing. With three more years to develop, Xavier has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
