03/03/2024 - National Showcase - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Xzayvier is a top prospect as he continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he starts in an athletic ready position and fields in a square position. Glove action is sure and present well out front. He shows fluid / smooth actions, playing through the ball and gets rid of the baseball quickly. Range is a plus as he utilizes his foot quickness (6.82 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry to his target. Behind the dish, feet are quick as he shows good direction, working in line to get rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in 1.94 range as he will control the running game with his feet / arm. He tracks the ball well and presents a firm mitt in sticking pitches. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and he is a wall behind the plate. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently through the swing.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Xzayvier continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.01 range with accuracy / carry (88 mph velocity) on his throws. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a LHH. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/20/2022 - Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Xzayvier is a class of 2025 catcher. Behind the plate, he showed good footwork and plus arm strength. He has a good ability to control the run game and had pop times as low as 2.09 seconds. He did a good job blocking and showed quickness and good pitch recognition. He received well and was able to show quiet actions. At the plate, he showed the ability to hit from both sides of the plate. He has a good approach with a middle of the field focus. He did a good job using his lower ½ at the plate. In game action he was able to find barrels often and got on base multiple times. Xzayvier is a well-rounded athletic catcher and we hope to see him again as he continues to develop.

06/20/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (HS) Xzayvier is an athletic, hardworking C in the 2025 class. Scouts enjoyed working with him and described Xzayvier as “a pleasure to have in camp and worked every second to improve his game”. Behind the plate, he has soft hands, quiet eyes and presents a solid target. He replaces his feet well on his throws and his exchanges are quick and clean. He gets the ball in the air quickly (2.15 pop) and is accurate to his target. Working to throw the top of the baseball will shorten his take away and create more carry. His feet are above average on his blocks and working to generate more of an angle to allow him to keep the ball in front more. At the plate, He stays inside the baseball well and looks to drive the ball to the backside gap. Collected 4 hits in camp to the backside and getting his front foot down sooner will allow him to use the middle of the field more. Overall, he is a player with high character and has the tools (6.82 runner) to play at the next level in 3 years

12/05/2021 - All-In Membership - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Xzayvier is a young, 2-way player, with a thin/athletic frame. Behind the plate, Xzayvier has quick feet, soft/presentable hands, and he sits in low and athletically. He holds a low target, gains ground, and sticks the ball well. Xzayvier blocks and receives well, shows a quick clean exchange, and throws with a good release and a short arm action with accuracy to second base. A softer chest when blocking and added throwing accuracy will only help Xzayvier improve behind the plate. At shortstop, Xzayvier shows efficient foot work, solid range to the glove side, and a loose arm action. Xzayvier moves well to the ball, makes plays, and throws with a quick release across the diamond. Xzayvier can improve in the infield with an earlier glove presentation, quicker feet, and not stabbing at the baseball. Offensively, Xzayvier has a crouched stance, a short square stride, and good balance. He has explosive bat speed, a direct barrel through the zone, and he makes hard consistent contact gap to gap. Solid hitting can get even better by letting the ball travel deeper, and not getting around the baseball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
