Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/1BPosition Projection

04/28/2019 - College PREP - Manalapan, NJ Yatharth is a tall RHP/1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Yatharth gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and finishes square to the plate. Yatharth shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release can help Yatharth improve as a pitcher. In the field, Yatharth shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and makes consistently on-line throws to his target. Yatharth can improve defensively by fielding the ball in a lower position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and leads well with his lower half, making solid contact. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Yatharth improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Yatharth has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Yatharth is a tall and lanky 2022 RHP/ 1B prospect. At 1B, Yatharth is aggressive coming off the bag, and gets into the proper position pre pitch. He makes accurate DP feeds, and picks the ball well. Having an active prep step, presenting a low/early glove, and working from the ground up will make him a more consistent fielder. At the plate, Yatharth starts in a tall stance; he has a middle approach, and keeps his head down at contact. He uses his backside, and gets the barrel on plane with the ball. Continuing to get his hands into a strong launch position will allow Yatharth to be on time and recognize pitches he can drive. On the bump, Yatharth keeps his eyes on his target, separates on time, and works at a good pace. Continuing to keep a strong glove side, and finishing over the front side will allow him to work down hill. Yatharth was a great communicator and made tremendous adjustments during the situational hitting drills. Yatharth will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/27/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Wilmington, DE Yatharth is a (5'11'/130) RHP/1B. Defensively at 1B, he works hard as he tries to stay low on GB's. He fields the ball with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. On the hill, this righty stands tall with a 3-pitch arsenal. He works in line as he delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action and finishes strong towards home plate. On offense, Yatharth uses a middle of the field approach. He takes hard hacks through the zone and stays balanced through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicker feet
2. Stay low
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Be a strike thrower
2. Strong frontside
3. Develop off speed
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Improve bat speed
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
