01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Yoel has really improved his baseball abilities since we last saw him and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through ha level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 2 with a 3B and 4 BB as he shows a strong recognition of the strike zone. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve his foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has really improved, now showing as well above average as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 83-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Yoel has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/18/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Yoel is a 3B who continues to improve his game as he graduates in 2022. At the plate, he showed advanced actions as he showed fast twitch, natural movements. He starts from a square stance, firing his hands quickly to the baseball showing above average bat speed. He displayed a level swing plane which allowed him to spray to all fields consistently. Defensively he showed fluid actions in the infield with soft feet taking good angles. He fields out in front with soft hands leading to a clean exchange and strong throw across the diamond. Added strength will overall benefit Yoel. With smooth, athletic actions, and four years to develop Yoel is a solid prospect.

04/30/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Fort Myers, FL Yoel continues to improve his skills at OF/SS. Defensively in the OF, he presents his hands and works to get into a square fielding position. He takes solid routes to the ball and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. In the infield, he hustles laterally as he tries to work around the GB. He makes all the routine plays as he works to play through the ball towards his target. With the bat, Yoel is a solid switch hitter. He has smooth rhythm to load, swings level through the zone and drives pitches on a line to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Quick 1st step
2. Develop soft hands
3. Clean exchange to throw
Outfield
1. Lateral range
2. Get behind the fly ball

01/25/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Delray Beach, FL Yoel is a young, switch hitting 2-way player as an OF/RHP. In the OF, he takes solid routes and hustles into position behind the fly-ball. He gathers well and works in-line toward his target. With the bat, this switch hitter has a balanced approach with a solid base. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with some pop. On the mound, Yoel throws a FB & CB coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and free/loose arm action. FB shows slight run while breaking ball has 11/5 shape. He works in-line toward the dish and keeps the ball in the zone. Overall abilities will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
