Official Scouting Report

  • RHPPosition Projection

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Zac is a solid RHP who will graduate 2023. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 69-71 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Zac has potential with time and room to progress his game.

11/03/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Ellicott City, MD Zac is a 2B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Zac makes the routine plays and flashes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws and keeps them accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with loose hands. He is controlled and shows good rhythm getting into his load. He takes a compact swing with decent bat speed which leads to solid contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
