05/23/2015 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Zac is an athletic 2-way player as a 2B/RHP. Defensively, he shows quick/active footwork with good prep movement. He works lightly on the balls of his feet, gets around the GB and funnels smoothy to a quick/clean exchange. With the bat, Zac displays a balanced setup with rhythm to load. He jumps on any pitch in his zone, whipping the barrel on a level path and squaring it up consistently. On the mound, this righty has an effective 3-pitch mix (FB, SL, CH) throwing everything for strikes. He maintains fluid rhythm/tempo, get good glove side lead and stays directional toward the plate. FB ranges from 75-77 mph while showing early tail. He works it to both sides of the plate and can hit his spots. Slider is best off speed pitch as it has 11/5 shape with good action. Harston (2016 grad) is a talented/versatile player who has a ton of upside.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
