11/10/2016 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Zach continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and showed on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.90. At the plate, he has improved the most in his hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Once on base, he is a plus base runner and will utilize his outstanding foot speed to take the extra base. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works proper angles in tracking down balls. He reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground, displaying range. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents hands well out front. Working to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target will aid in improving defensive abilities. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-73 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will further develop as he builds more arm strength. Zach is a hard worker and plays with high energy.
