03/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Zach is a MIF out of Laurel, MD in the class of 2023. Defensively, he displayed quick feet and good agility by reacting off the bat well. He works through the baseball in a low athletic fielding position while showing great hands. He makes clean exchanges and throws with a short arm action which allows for accuracy/carry across the diamond. Offensively, he uses an athletic set up with fluid timing to deliver the barrel with quick hands. His path is direct to the ball which enables him to make consistent line drive contact all over the field. Zach is a good player we believe possesses the skills to make it to the next level.

10/21/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, MD Zach is an athletic SS prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Skill summary below.

Infield
- Footwork
- Quick release
- Needs to be more controlled

Hitting
- Short swing
- Lower 1/2 drive
- Needs smoother rhythm

07/30/2020 - Summer Pro Training Experience - MD (HS) Zach continues to shine on the diamond. In the IF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Zack continues to shine on the diamond. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Zack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. In the MIF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork, attacking baseball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

06/07/2019 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Zack is a young SS prospect. At the plate, Zack starts with a tight and compact stance to where he strides out and unloads with force. One thing that Zack should work on is getting his weight back and shifting it in through the zone. Zack also needs to not grip the bat so hard and have loose hands when handling the stick. At SS, Zack possesses a good feel for the position. This young SS should work on getting behind the ball to get more velocity and accuracy on his throws to first base. Zack also has good range to baseballs hit up the middle and in the hole. He also has a very good feel for turning a double play. Overall, we are looking forward to how this young player develops in our system and are excited to see where he goes.

11/03/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Ellicott City, MD Zack is a 3B prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Zack gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front. He is synchronized in his release and makes accurate throws with good backspin across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in a small load and rotates his core well, leading to solid contact. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Fielding
1. Ready position
2. Footwork to field
3. Lateral range
Hitting
1. Looser grip
2. Lower half drive
3. Level swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
