10/19/2016 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Zach is a solid, athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.35. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying tremendous power potential. Hands are quick (96 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive approach. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works around and plays through balls with his body. He moves well laterally and presents soft /sure hands well out front. Hands / feet work well together and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, carry, and accuracy on his throws. On the bump, he shows a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-77 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup showing a feel for pitch with tailing action. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Building more arm strength through a long toss program will aid in further development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude, works hard, and he is a student of the game. With 2 years to further develop, Zach has potential with time and room to progress his game.
