Zach is an athletic SS who impressed scouts with his overall play and speed (7.12 60 yard dash). Offensively, he shows a balanced/athletic setup with a stride and load that are well timed and a still head throughout his swing which resulted in consistent line drives up the middle. Defensively, he shows fluid actions with a plus arm, playing with low approach that allows for his glove to stay out in front to field ground balls cleanly. Already a polished player, Zach shows the skills to play at the next level.

09/01/2012 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Commuter) (Ages 12-14)
Zach is a young athletic player that showed the ability to make good adjustments. Day 1, Zach struggled with his timing and gaining ground with his front foot and body weight. He would load and keep his weight on his backside. On Day 2, Zach made a major adjustment gaining ground with his front foot allowing his body to get centered. This was huge because it allowed his lower half to work stronger and not spin. Zach showed a good feel for his barrel with good hand action. The next thing for him would be making sure he lets the ball travel deeper, trusting that his hands will get to the ball without reaching. Making the type of adjustment Zach made is difficult but he overcame it and really focused on getting better. With that type of aptitude and the willingness to listen he should turn out to be a special player at the next level.
