12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Zachariah continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. On the mound, he show a smooth, repeatable delivery through a high ¾ arm slot. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 81 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with good tilt. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitch. He is poised and shows a good mound presence. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (90 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows a relaxed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. Zachariah is a great team player, hustles, and works hard to be the best player he can be on the diamond.

10/29/2023 - National Showcase - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Zachariah is a LHP who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame lean build with strength present and room to add throughout. On the mound, this left-handed pitcher works with good tempo and has a loose arm action. He gets to a good balance point and works downhill. Picks up his target early and gets his chest to his glove. He challenges hitters with a FB that sits 77-78mph with movement in zone, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. CH was best pitch during his bullpen. As Zachariah continues to develop and mature, we see him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
