Zach improved hitting grades, catching grades, and raised arm velo to 68 MPH during his last workout with the Factory. Behind the plate, Zach has firm hands, efficient footwork, and is a nice target behind the dish. He sits in quietly in a square position, and has a long release to 2nd base. In the OF, Zach has fluid feet, he fields in rhythm, and he plays through the ball well. He has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action to his target. At the plate, Zach improved both hitting and power grades to 35's. He has a simple/repeatable stroke, a short stride, and a direct barrel to the ball. He makes square/consistent contact and works the ball gap to gap.
09/23/2017 - FDI Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (12-14)
Zach is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square, athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting back into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives to the gaps. Zach can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half through more. With six more years to develop, Zach has the time and potential to further progress his skills at the plate.
07/07/2017 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14)
Zach continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 54-57 mph with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

Zachary is a 3B/OF who will graduate in 2023. Defensively at 3B, he takes aggressive cuts as he tries to work around the GB. He fields the ball, sets his feet and makes accurate throws to his target. In the OF, he hustles hard laterally as he tracks down fly balls. He tries to work behind the ball and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, Zachary shows patience as he tracks pitches into the zone. He takes hard swings and looks to drive the ball back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.
1. Lateral quickness
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quick exchange
1. Quicker footwork
2. Work from ground up
3. Arm strength (long toss)
1. Develop rhythm
