01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament It doesn't take long to recognize Zachary on the field, as he has several stand-out tools and already possesses the body of a player you usually see in a professional uniform. He is a quick-twitch athlete throughout - from his 6.50 in the 60, to his hands at the plate, to his jumps in the outfield. As a hitter he is most comfortable spraying hard line drives between the gaps, and he also shows very good discipline at the plate. He really impacts the ball as evidenced by his exit velocity of 100 mph. Defensively, Zachary's range and reads should allow him to stick in CF at the next level making him an attractive prospect as a potential top-of-the-order bat playing a middle-of-the-field position.

10/17/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Daniels has a high-waisted frame with a projectable, well-proportioned build at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds. He ran 6.81 in the 60 yard dash, and moved with ease and life to his actions in the outfield. His throws held a solid flight and were fairly accurate to the target, with his arm fitting best in LF or CF. At the plate, he featured quick hands and the ability to accelerate the barrel to contact. In BP he tended to swing across his body and cut off his stroke, but his move was much more natural against live pitching when he reacted to firmer velocity. He made a number of high quality game swings, giving real value to the quickness of his trigger and his ability to get the barrel to the ball. He has room to improve mechanically, mainly along the lines of maintaining his direction and keeping the barrel in the zone longer -- but his combination of quickness and ability to react and delivery when it counts gives him a real chance to hit at a high level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
