Exclusive College Recruiting Program Zach is a lean framed left hand hitting MIF/OF prospect who is the son of a former D1 baseball player. With a balanced left-handed stroke that shows a great feel for the barrel Zach is impressive in the box despite his smaller frame. His barrel gets on plane quickly and early and the path stays through the zone long to generate consistent solid contact. As he continues to add size and strength to his frame the upside in his swing, lower half usage and balance shows a hitter with above average hit tool potential at the college level. He understands his skill set and doesn’t look to lift the ball but rather stay through it and spray line drives from line to line. It’s a very confident and projectable offensive approach and swing for him. Defensively, he has played SS at times and the athleticism is there, but he is best suited to stick at 2b where his footwork and arm play best and allows him to be an offensive minded 2b with average defense. He has played some OF in the past and could possibly slide to CF or LF where the LH bat plays. A 4.18 GPA in the classroom and tremendous makeup off the field and strong work ethic in the classroom and baseball diamond he is a well-rounded potential recruit.

05/15/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Zachary is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Zachary covers ground well and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate/on-line to his target. Working on his foot quickness can help Zachary make more plays. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and engages his lower half well. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. Zachary can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Zachary gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate. He extends through his release and finishes with his chest square to his target. Zachary operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 57-59mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 62-66mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Zachary improve his pitch command. Overall, Zachary is a developing prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
