Exclusive College Recruiting Program Zach is a versatile prospect from the Southern California ranks. He has shown the ability to be a solid IF prospect at 3b/1b where he has rhythm in his footwork and soft hands allowing him to play solid average defense on the corners. There is enough arm strength to project to stay at 3b as he matures and adds more, but the footwork and hands at 1b allow him to provide solid defense there. He is an adept receiver behind the plate with good hands and strength in his wrists to provide catching potential at the college level. His arm shows low 2.0 pop times and the ability to lower it with strength development. At the plate he aggressively uses his lower half to generate bat speed with a swing geared for hard contact to the pull side and enough feel for the barrel to use the backside of the field. As he matures and develops more strength his pull side power will play higher and allow to hit to the backside with more authority. He projects as a versatile defense prospect who can play 3 positions and provide length to a lineup with potential to grow into more offensive impact.
