Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/CPosition Projection

08/23/2020 - All-In Membership - St Cloud (Minneapolis), MN Zachary is a solid/strong (6'2"/185) 2-way player as a RHP/C. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix (FB, SL, CH) coming from a high 3/4 arm slot and clean/free arm action. He works tall, has smooth separation and drives downhill, in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 81-83 mph while showing good arm-side run. Slider has 9/3 shape with tight spin and good bite. Changeup has sink as he works to keep it low in the zone - 77-79 mph. Behind the dish, he sits in well with athletic actions and flexion. He tracks pitches into a soft mitt and sticks the ball, framing well. He takes good angles around pitches in the dirt and looks to center the ball off of his chest. Throws to 2B are accurate coming from a quick/clean transfer - pop times at 1.91. With the bat, this righty shows a tall/open stance with rhythm to load. He takes an aggressive hack with + bat speed and squares the ball up, showing pop to his pull-side (exit velocity = 84 mph). Hoehn is a skilled 2-way prospect who will make an impact on the diamond in a variety of ways.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
