12/20/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Zachary is a lean, solid SS/RHP that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best at SS for the next level. Defensive grades are slightly above average as he shows smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. For defensive grade to continue to improve, he needs to attack balls more and play through balls more and increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate, but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, LaRue shows a closed setup with rhythm. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a solid line drive approach. Hitting grades will continue to improve as he learns to keep his hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 3 for 6. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 71-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. Zachary has abilities with time and room to improve.
