12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Zachary continues to show the makings of a special type player. At the plate is where this power hitter shows best through a crouched setup, with centered balance and a solid base. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all parts of the field, and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. The ball explodes off of his barrel as he would be a fit in the clean-up role in the order. He showed tremendous grip strength with both hands but at 184lbs for his left hand, which puts him at the top of the 2021 class. His strong grip results in quick hands and good power at contact. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. This solid corner infielder has a ton of upside and the tools that will translate into the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
