01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Watson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and a promising future on the diamond, both offensively and defensively. Foot speed has really improved, now showing tremendous foot speed as ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.57 runner. Defensive abilities have improved, now displaying outstanding abilities. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process, showing big play potential. Throws display accuracy and on line carry through a loose arm action as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and through a short / direct path. He works to stay inside the baseball, utilizing all fields and makes consistent hard contact, displaying gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a 3B.

11/02/2014 - College PREP - Shreveport, LA Watson is an exciting prospect who has a plus all-around skill-set. Speed, arm strength and athleticism will make this switch hitting MIF a hot commodity. With the bat, he shows a balanced/athletic approach with fluid rhythm. He creates extension through contact and drives the ball with pop to all parts of the field. He gets out of the box and down the line with speed (6.68), putting pressure on the defense. With the glove, Zachary works fluidly around the ground ball, fielding it out in front. He works through the ball from right to left with a quick exchange. Backhand is smooth as he has a cannon of an arm (88 mph) with the ability to throw from deep in the hole. Zachary (2016 grad) has a high ceiling and will play at a very high level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
