06/02/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Waleska (Atlanta), GA Zachry is a big and tall C/RHP that will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate Zachry presents his hands well tracking the ball all the way in. He sets the pitcher up with a solid low target. He can improve by working on his lateral blocking. At the plate Zachry shows a good bat that shows pop to the pull side. He sets up in a square and athletic stance. His rhythm is fluid and makes consistently hard contact. On the bump Zachry shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. He gathers over the rubber well and extends through release keeping his direction square. Zachry can continue to improve with long toss and agility. Zachry has time to develop and we look forward to seeing his development.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Zachry is a coachable C/RHP who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Zachry tracks the ball into his glove and makes accurate throws with carry through the 2B bag. Sitting in a lower stance can help Zachry improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance with his hands held high. He takes a smooth swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid line drives. Zachry can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Zachry gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing square to his target. Zachry shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits at 61mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits at 64mph with sinking action. Zachry can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength. Overall, Zachry is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/28/2018 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Zachry is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Zachry presents a good target to the pitcher and tracks the ball into his glove. He throws from over top and keeps his throws consistent to 2B. Zachry can improve defensively by setting up in a lower stance. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and leads well with his lower half, driving the ball to all fields. Working a smoother rhythm into his load will help Zachry improve as a hitter. On the mound, Zachry keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and works to keep his pitches around the zone. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
