01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Zack is a tall, lean, and athletic catcher that will graduate in 2017 with a promising future on the diamond. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.02-2.20 with life and on line carry through his target, displaying outstanding arm strength. He will control the running game with his feet / arm. Receiving / blocking skills show as tremendous tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential from both sides of the plate. He gets to a strong launch position and shows quick hands that generate bat speed to and through contact, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with strength in his swing as the baseball explodes off the bat when centered, displaying gap to gap pop. Zack has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
