01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Zane is a talented athlete who showed well during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. This strong righty steps into the batters box with a purpose and remains relaxed. Hands are loose as he gets back into a good launch position and fires the barrel at pitches he likes, connecting and driving the ball on a line (exit velocity of 89 mph). He squares the ball up and has the ability to drive it deep into the gaps. He hustles down the 1B line and is always thinking of getting 2. In the OF, he coves a ton of ground right and left with speed. Actions are smooth and athletic with a quick/clean exchange to throw. Raba is a very skilled OF prospect who has the tools that will make an impact at a high level.

07/04/2018 - Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Zane continues to show the makings of a special type player at the next level. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Range is a plus as reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through more with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with on line zip to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact, utilizing his lower half well through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 9 with a 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable, and plays the game hard. With 2 years to further develop, Zane has a tremendous upside with time and room to progress his game.

05/20/2018 - National Tryout Plus - San Antonio, TX Zane continues to show as a prospect on the diamond and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed is tremendous as he improved his 60 time, now a 6.61 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft and he presents well, utilizing two hands through the process. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
