01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Zeke is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown. Behind the plate, Zeke sits in a relaxed primary stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He moves efficiently to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. Zeke can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Zeke can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. With five more years to develop, Zeke has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/25/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Shreveport, LA Zeke is a young 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Zeke has fluid footwork, presentable hands, and he uses his chest well when blocking. He has athletic actions, a clean exchange, and throws with a short arm action with direction toward his target. At 3B, Zeke has active/efficient footwork, he creates a good fielding angle, and his exchange is clean with some accuracy to his target. At the plate, Zeke has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he loads well. He swings on plane, has a direct barrel, and works the ball gap to gap. Zeke can continue to get better with work on the following.

1. Gain ground
2. Lower set-up
3. Arm strength
1. Follow throws
2. AA
3. Accuracy/strength
1. Finish
2. Barrel accuracy
3. Let ball travel

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
