07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Zeke is a young and athletic C/3B. Behind the plate Zeke presents a good target to the pitcher. to 2B, He gains ground and gets rid of the ball quickly with a clean arm action. His throws are accurate to the bag. Blocking, his footwork is on time and effective as he works to center the ball. A more consistent exchange will help improve Zeke's game. Setting up at the plate Zeke sets up slightly open with comfortable hands and shows good rhythm keeping his weight centered. He rotates well with good hip/hand separation and makes consistent contact with a line drive approach. Mobility behind the plate and more hitting will improve Zeke's game. Zeke is young and will continue to grow into his game.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Zeke is a coachable C/3B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown. Behind the plate, Zeke sits in a relaxed primary stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to the 2B bag. He moves efficiently to block and centers the ball in the middle of his body. Zeke can improve defensively by long tossing to build up his arm strength. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Zeke can improve as a hitter by continuing to add strength. With five more years to develop, Zeke has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
