Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Zeke is a young 2023 3B/RHP. In the field, Zeke works hard to get into a good fielding position. Working to get his glove out front more and earlier will improve his fielding game. He makes clean exchanges and makes strong throws across the diamond with a quick arm action. Zeke sets up slightly open at the plate and works hard to get on time with the pitch. He has good levers to be able to create power to drive the ball and will get better as he matures. When he makes solid contact, the ball jumps off the barrel as he works a line drive approach. On the mound Zeke has a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The CB shows 9-3 gradual break and the CH shows some late bite potential. Working on footwork and using the lower half in all aspects on the game will accelerate Zeke's abilities. As Zeke continues to mature and grow his game will improve.

01/21/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Omaha, NE Zeke showed strength upgrades, speed upgrades, and improved hitting numbers during his last workout with The Factory. Grip strength was 77 L and 82 R, velocity was clocked at 63 MPH, and hitting numbers jumped to 28 and 30. On the mound, Zeke works in good tempo, he has good balance, and solid direction toward home. He shows good size on the mound and competes in the zone. At 3B, Zeke makes the routine plays, he gains ground toward his target, and throws with accuracy. At the plate, Zeke stands in squarely, he has a short/direct barrel, and makes consistent contact; spraying the ball to all fields. Overall skills can continue to get better if Zeke can work on the following.

Pitching
1. Loosen AA
2. Lower body
3. Finish
Infield
1. Fielding position
2. Hands
3. Range
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Rhythm

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Zeke is a big, projectable two-way prospect who works hard to improve whenever he's on the field. He shows solid control on the mound with the ability to maneuver his fastball to both sides of the plate. He has a clean arm stroke on the mound that creates little stress and will allow him to pitch deep into games. His fastball reaches 61mph with late run and he works down in the zone to induce weak contact. At the hot corner, he shows feel for the position with good pre-pitch work to get ready. He reads the ball off the bat and can funnel it in to make plays. Speed and agility drills will improve lateral quickness and range to both sides. At the dish, he keeps his head still through the swing and shows an opposite field approach to stay back on the ball. He has hand eye coordination to deliver the barrel to the ball and make solid contact. Zeke is an interesting prospect we definitely want to keep an eye on.

01/15/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Omaha, NE Zeke is young 2-way player who pitches and catches. On the mound, Zeke has good size, he stands over the rubber well, and gets good extension on his pitches. He lands with a proper length, rotates through to his target, and is around the zone with his pitches. Behind the plate, Zeke has playable hands and feet, he tries to look the ball into his glove, and throws with some consistency to his target. At the plate, Zeke has a crouched set-up, he can hit to all fields, and can work the ball to the opposite field. Zeke will need to work on the following for hitting to improve.

Pitching
1. Loosen arm action
2. Finish
3. Long toss
Catching
1. Blocking
2. Footwork
3. Exchange
Hitting
1. Load/stride
2. Rhythm/timing
3. Lower body

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
