01/03/2010 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Aaron showed some improvements in his baseball abilities since we last saw him 12/09. He shows good athleticism and promise behind the dish and improved in several categories. His radar velocity increased from 82 to 84 MPH, and his arm his plenty of life in it. Aaron anticipates the baseball well, his footwork is sound, and he has good hands. Both his blocking and receiving grades improved, and he continues to be quiet and firm. Defensive can improve with a little more carry on his throws. Overall defensively, Aaron has a good idea behind the plate and will be solid at the next level. Offensively, Aaron has excellent balance, barrel accuracy, and use of his lower 1/2. He has good pace and rhythm, his hands are quiet, and he has power to all fields.

12/06/2009 - College PREP - Cedar Hill, TX Aaron is a medium framed C, with solid tools. He holds a low target and keeps his body square to the Pitcher. Aaron has a quiet set-up behind the plate and shows good hands. His throws are inline, and they have life and carry to them. Aaron's pop times were as low as 2.07, and could be lower if he can shorten his arm action, and become quicker from glove to hand. Offensively, Aaron has a good set-up, and a level swing path. He makes solid contact and squares the ball on the barrel well. If Aaron can work on a proper load, and get extension through the baseball, Offensive numbers should further improve. Aaron is a 2010 graduate that should be turning the heads of College Coaches.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
