06/19/2017 - College PREP - Katy (Houston), TX Aaron is a OF/LHP who has a versatile skill-set and graduates in 2018. In the outfield, Aaron plays with active, effective footwork and aggressive approach while taking the correct angles to cover good ground. He stays behind the baseball and presents his glove as he fields it in a square position. Aaron does a nice job playing through the baseball and he has a long arm action throwing from a low 3/4 arm slot. As a left-handed hitter, Aaron has an open stance and tracks the baseball well. He has an on-plane swing path and produces consistent contact. Aaron shows the ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. On the mound, Aaron has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and stays square to home plate as he effectively rotates with his core towards his target. Aaron commands his fastball with good tail movement. His changeup is deceptive and has good movement. Overall, Aaron has a well-rounded skill set and upside to get even better with development.

05/01/2016 - College PREP - College Station, TX Aaron continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.25. In the OF, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through well with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by improving footwork to throw and building more arm strength to improve arm grade. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he works to use his lower half more efficiently.

09/30/2015 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Aaron continues to show as an OF/LHP with improvements in his baseball tools. In the OF, foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in tracking down balls. He utilizes his lower half well through his crop hop as he gets behind and stays behind the baseball in getting rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows an open setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the baseball to utilize all fields. On the mound, fastball showed in the mid 60 range with deception and sinking action. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches as he continues to develop. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup continues to show as a plus tool as he is a great teammate and is a student of the game.

02/01/2015 - National Tryout - Houston, TX Aaron showed growth in his game since his previous outing with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he got his hands activated to hit and allowed the ball to travel to the respected contact points. Loosening his upper half and strengthening his grip is key to further development in the box. In the OF, he came to get the ball well and worked behind fly balls. He made plays with a sure glove and got momentum to throw. On the mound, he threw a FB, 10/4 CB, and CH. He was mechanically sound and rotated to his target to finish. Adding strength to his arm and front side are key to increasing velocity and control. In all - Aaron is a promising L/L freshman that should have a sound spring season, especially in the OF.

11/06/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Aaron is a young, lean LHP/OF that will graduate in 2018. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 65-66 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program, works to throw strikes with all his pitches, and develops better off speed stuff. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and utilizes his feet well in covering a lot of ground. He utilizes two hands well through the fielding process, working on proper side. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target, and increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program and improve footwork to throw to improve arm grade. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 1 for 3. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Aaron has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
