09/12/2010 - College PREP - Adrian (Detroit), MI Adam is a tall, good sized, 2-way player that Pitches and plays OF. He currently projects better on the mound, as he enters his Senior year. Adam has good strength and arm speed on the mound, and a FB touching 85 MPH. He throws a heavy ball, on a downhill plane, and his off-speed pitches show good promise. He has potential on the mound and with a longer arm stroke, more extension, and more drive off his back side, mound effectiveness can continue to rise. In the OF, Adam has average hands and feet, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He uses 2 hands and throws with some carry to his target. Lighter feet and a quicker exchange will help OF skills get better. Offensively, Adam has average hitting skills and he stays on top of the ball. He puts it in play and can get better with a looser grip, better load, and by working the ball to all fields.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
