05/21/2017 - College PREP - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Adam is a hardworking SS/RHP prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2018. In the field, Adam plays with quick, fluid footwork and an effective first step to give him a good jump on the ball. He moves with agile actions and presents his glove as he fields the ball in a low position. Adam has a quick, clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball to produce strong, online throws. Offensively, Adam has a crouched stance with a good load and square stride. He is developing bat speed and a short swing path. Adam gets good rotation with his hips and has a strong finish. He shows solid contact to the pull side. On the mound, Adam has a balanced, on-time delivery and he picks up his target early. He extends through his release and has a controlled landing as he rotates towards his target. Adam has good sink on his fastball and locates it well. His changeup is deceptive with good run and his curveball has medium break. Overall, Adam has a good approach to the game and potential to get even better with development.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
