08/11/2009 - College PREP - Bear (Wilmington), DE Adam is a 3B with a solid average body that shows projection as he continues to physically mature and fill out. Foot speed is a well above average as indicated by his 7.07 60 time. He utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in coming to get and playing through balls with his feet and hands. He shows solid body control as he gets into a solid fielding position. Lateral movement is a plus, displaying range. Glove action is soft, clean, and sure in making all the plays. Defensive abilities are solid average at 3B. Arm strength is solid average displaying carry across the diamond. He needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more carry on throws while legthening arm action. At the plate, Santoro has solid average abilities and power through a balanced approach. He shows a feel for the barrel with power increasing as he learns to stay back and transfer weight through the swing in his lower half. Hands work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Adam has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
