02/22/2015 - College PREP - Dayton, OH Adam continues to shine on the diamond. This RHH shows a balanced approach with rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel to and through the zone with speed. He squares the ball up consistently and drives the middle of the field. In the OF, he woks light on his feet and covers ground in the gaps. He gathers smoothly and fires accurate throws into his target. A top of the line-up type of player - Adam's athleticism and speed will make an impact on the diamond.

07/30/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 Adam Ward is a solid, athletic SS that will graduate in 2016 with potential. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.84 60 time. Feet are active / aggressive as he works to square ground balls up and makes the routine plays. He moves well laterally, flashing range in the MIF. Hands are soft / clean / sure but needs to present more out front while playing through balls to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He has strong hands, shows good barrel accuracy and makes consistent contact, displaying gap to gap power. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power numbers will increase he learns to stay back and utilize his lower half properly. At the event, he was 4 for 11 with 3 BB as he displays patience and a solid eye. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Adam has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
