Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

05/20/2018 - College PREP - Nyack (NYC), NY Adrian is a talented, tall OF/RHP graduating in 2019. In the field, Adrian has rhythm and shows active feet that make him agile in the field. He creates angles to attack difficult plays and shows an athletic fielding position, presenting his hands out front. He makes clean exchanges into a long, loose arm action (High 3/4 arm slot) and gets on top of the baseball while making accurate throws to his targets, using his body's momentum to throw the ball on a line with carry. Adrian excels on the mound with his four-pitch arsenal (4SM FB, 2SM FB, CB and CH) and good tempo. Mechanics are strong and throws a heavy FB (85-87 mph) with a sharp, late breaking CB. He gets good extension and shows a loose, quick, clean arm action. Adrian can improve on the mound by utilizing more of his lower half and working on his front side. At the plate, Adrian shows good mechanics through a gap-to-gap approach. He keeps a square stride with good separation and smooth timing. He keeps his balance center with a firm front half and displaying fast bat speed with a flat, direct swing path while making consistent contact. Adrian could improve offensively by keeping his hands inside the ball when making contact. Adrian is a very projectable player that, with some fine tuning, can make an immediate impact at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
